Commercial Bank Tariffs 2019 Update

Effective 1 June 2019, our maximum cap for the commission in lieu of exchange levied on Outward Telegraphic Transfer and Global Trade and Receivables Finance services in our standard tariff will be reduced from S$5,000 to S$120.

Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited New BIC Onboarding for Local Clearing

Subject to legal and regulatory approvals, Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore Branch is transferring their Commercial Banking, Corporate & Institutional Banking and Private Banking businesses to Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“SCBSL”) on 13 May 2019.

With this business consolidation, SCBSL will process local clearing transactions with its own BIC (SCBLSG22). This will impact any interbank transactions that you initiate to SCBSL accounts.

To ensure that your interbank transactions can be processed successfully, please use the revised description and bank details as set out in the table below before initiating payments to SCBSL accounts or collecting funds.

Change in Citibank Singapore Limited SGD Payment Instruction

Citibank Singapore Limited will have a new SWIFT Bank Identifier Code ("BIC") and Bank Code for SGD payments instructions with effect from 15 April 2019. This will impact any interbank SGD transactions that you may make to Citibank Singapore Limited and are relevant to transactions involving a transfer of funds to Global Consumer Banking (Wealth management products and services, unsecured and secured products), Citi International Personal Banking and CitiBusiness Banking account(s) for the below transaction types:

Revision of the Deposit Insurance coverage limit.

With effect from 1 April 2019, Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors will be insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$75,000 from the current S$50,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law.

Renovation of HSBC Claymore Branch and Closure of HSBC Liat Towers Branch

In line with our continuous efforts to provide a better branch experience for our customers, we are currently renovating our HSBC Claymore Branch and the branch will re-open on Monday, 4 March 2019.

In addition, we will like to inform you that our nearby HSBC Liat Towers Branch will be closed permanently from Saturday, 2 March 2019, 12pm. All banking facilities located at this branch, including ATMs, Cash Deposit machine and Quick cheque deposit facility, will be removed and no longer be available.

For your banking needs, you may proceed to our refreshed HSBC Claymore Branch, located at 6 Claymore Hill, #01-01 Claymore Plaza, Singapore 229571; from Monday, 4 March 2019.

With effect from 1 March 2018, we will no longer issue SGD1,000 notes for any cash transaction which is less than SGD10,000. For any cash transaction of SGD10,000 or more, the following application form will need to be completed and presented at our branches if SGD1,000 notes are required.

From 1 November 2017, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Singapore Branch will cease collection of cashier's order, demand draft and cheque book at HSBC branches. These payment instruments will be mailed to applicant/beneficiary mailing address.

Cessation of Credit Advices for inbound transactions and paper copy inserts of the Business Reply Envelopes (BRE)

With effect from 1 August 2017, we will no longer be providing paper copy credit advices for telegraphic transfers, Fast and Giro inward remittances. You may refer to your monthly bank account statements or log-in to HSBCnet to view your transaction history or set-up customer alerts to be sent to you by email or sms based on the limits you set.

For help on setting up customer alerts, simply log-in to HSBCnet and click on Help Centre > User and Account Management > User Guides – All Users > Customer Alert

Get more information on HSBCnet. Alternatively, kindly contact your Relationship Manager or Client Service Manager for assistance.

Furthermore, we will no longer provide paper copy inserts of the BRE.
